Super Bowl Recap

The Super Bowl was two days ago - and it's 2025 - which means the game is old news at this point.  But hey, I love football and my advancing age is making me more OK with using cheesy sports analogies (plus it's my last opportunity to do so for a while!).  So, I'm going to try to use what I felt was the big picture takeaway from the Super Bowl and relate it to real estate (and bear with me, as it may or may not be a stretch).

In my ever-so-humble opinion, the Chiefs showed up expecting to be coronated.  Three-peat champions, GOAT-vibes, best dynasty ever, yadda yadda yadda (is my Patriots bias shining through here?...maybe).  Unfortunately, they clearly didn't put in the prep work necessary to win.  This, to me, feels like the lazy seller.  They think the market will carry them, so there's no need to repair, de-clutter, paint, clean, stage, etc.  While other houses get multiple offers, their arrogance leaves them with a Mahomes-ian pouty face on the sideline.

Or, perhaps they're the overpriced seller.  They think they're the greatest, and won't accept anything less than $A Gazillion.  They don't need to look at what is actually trading (and at what prices) because what they have is just so good, surely their status will enable them to prevail.

As for the victors, the Eagles won because they put in the work.  It started with GM Howie Roseman assembling one of the most talented rosters in recent history.  In real estate, by working with a talented agent, lender, lawyer, inspector, contractor, etc, you win.  The plays you run with this team won't be the same every time, but savvy people who have chemistry will find a way to succeed on your behalf.

Football's over which means we're deliciously close to Spring Market - let's do as the Eagles did this season!
