Why I Became a Real Estate Agent — And What That Means for My Clients

When I tell people I'm a real estate agent, they usually picture me unlocking doors and walking clients through properties. And sure, I do plenty of showings. But here's what most people don't understand: this job isn't about showing up to properties—it's about showing up for people.

Real estate is a people business, plain and simple. We live in a point-click-buy world where Zillow and online platforms make it seem like you can purchase a home as easily as ordering something on Amazon. But anyone who's actually been through a real estate transaction knows the truth: it's complicated, it's emotional, and it requires someone who's genuinely invested in guiding you through every twist and turn.

That's why I'm on call seven days a week, 365 days a year. Not because I have to be, but because I know that questions don't wait for business hours, and anxiety doesn't take weekends off. When my clients reach out, they don't just get a quick response—they get a thorough, well-researched, thoughtful answer. I pride myself on that. Communication isn't just part of this job; it's the foundation of it.

Before real estate, I spent years managing human service programs, working with people during critical moments in their lives. I learned that what people need most during times of uncertainty is someone who listens, someone who cares, and someone who can cut through the noise to provide clarity. Those skills translate directly into real estate, where every transaction involves complex decisions, tight timelines, and high stakes.

This is fundamentally a project management role. I'm coordinating inspections, navigating negotiations, managing timelines, liaising with attorneys and lenders, troubleshooting problems before they become crises, and keeping everyone informed every step of the way. But it's also deeply personal work. I'm helping people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives, and I don't take that responsibility lightly.

I became a real estate agent because I wanted to do work that mattered—work where I could combine strategic thinking with genuine care for the people I serve. For my clients, that means having a partner who's always available, always prepared, and always focused on what's best for them.

If you're looking for someone who will show up for you—not just at properties, but in every moment that matters—let's talk.
